Your Guide to Live Music in Maine This Summer
1. Fourth of July Concert
In years past, the Camden Rotary Club has hosted an Independence Day concert followed by a fireworks show. This year, the rotary club will host its annual Fourth of July concert at the Camden Snow Bowl to allow for social distancing, however, there won’t be a fireworks display.
2. North Atlantic Blues Festival
The North Atlantic Blues Festival is back this year! The 2021 installment of this event is set to take place July 10-11 at the Public Landing in nearby Rockland, Maine. This two-day festival features performances from the best blues musicians from around the nation. During the festival, you can also enjoy food, beverage, and craft vendors.
3. Maine Celtic Celebration
The annual Maine Celtic Celebration will take place on September 18, 2021. This festival takes place each year in Belfast, ME, about a 30-minute drive north of Camden. It’s a day-long celebration of Celtic culture, and highlights many of the most talented names in Celtic music.
4. The Camden Opera House
The Camden Opera House is one of our favorite places to visit in town. They’re now offering live, in-person performances, as well as live streams of the shows online for free for those who prefer to stay home. There is a wide variety of upcoming “Soundcheck” shows this summer, so be sure to check out the calendar of events to see who’s playing during your visit!
5. Strand Theatre
The Strand Theatre in nearby Rockland, ME, has a few upcoming outdoor concert series. From contemporary folk to American R&B, it’s a great place to enjoy a powerful live music performance.
