What Our Guests Say
“Two things stood out for us: The first was the packet of material that Janis presented us upon our arrival – the most well-organized listing of information on restaurants, shops, museums, historic sites, lighthouses, etc., that we have ever seen. The second was more personal. Our king-sized bed had a brand-new mattress which had excellent support, but our ancient joints needed something a little softer. After our first night, Peter inquired how we slept, and I’m afraid we were honest in our reply. Well, when we returned to our room later that day, there was a delightfully soft memory-foam topper installed on the mattress. We slept blissfully well that night. These two people are amazing, and you would have to travel far to find a better place to spend a relaxing few days.” (2020)
“Peter and Janis were amazing and felt like good friends. . . . Peter even offered us a ride home from our restaurant in a driving rainstorm (we had walked there) and we loved his thoughtfulness.” (2019)
We Want to Help You Have the Best Possible Vacation
We realize that the time set aside for vacations often is limited and precious. We want you to have the best possible experience during your visit to coastal Maine and your stay with us at the Camden Maine Stay Inn. To that end, we are here – ready, willing and able – to help you plan, organize and implement your vacation activities.
Our Travel Guide is a Great Place to Start
To begin planning your vacation, we urge you to request a free copy of our Travel Guide. The complimentary Travel Guide, which is based on our several years as travelers and innkeepers in coastal Maine, sets forth a comprehensive array of activities and sights that are available in Camden as well as several other nearby communities. The activities and sights begin with antique stores and art galleries, continue through lighthouses, museums, nature walks/hikes, and sightseeing cruises, and end with wineries and woodworking workshops. We urge you to use the Travel Guide as an idea generator and planning tool, as it lays out for you a wide spectrum of interesting places to go and things to see and do while you are here with us.
Share Your Interests, and We’ll Share Our Insights
Next, whether before or after you begin your vacation, we are available to discuss your travel plans with you and offer helpful suggestions. We know both the “usual suspects” and the “hidden gems” – for example, the locals’ favorite restaurants (we are unabashed foodies, by the way) and nearby but often overlooked nature walks (we love romantic strolls along the coastline). As locals, we also know where things are located in relation to each other, which can be extremely helpful in organizing the activities that you want to accomplish during your vacation. We can help you arrange daily itineraries that enhance your vacation experience based on your specific interests.
We Can Take Care of the Details
Finally, we can make the arrangements for your vacation activities. Whether it is making a dinner reservation, reserving a spot on a schooner or sloop for a cruise of Penobscot Bay, securing a tee time at a local golf course, setting aside a museum admission ticket, or anything else of this sort, we are happy to take care of the tasks, large and small, that will enable you to more fully experience all that coastal Maine has to offer. Simply let us know what you want to do, and we will take it from there.
