Everything You Need to Know About Christmas by the Sea Festival
This year’s Christmas by the Sea festival is set to take place from Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, to Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019. This weekend-long celebration will feature a variety of events in downtown Camden, Maine, as well as in Rockport and Lincolnville. While the 2019 schedule hasn’t been released yet, many of the staple events remain the same each year. Read on to find out why it’s one of our favorite Camden, Maine, events!
Annual Events at the Christmas by the Sea Festival
The first day of Christmas by the Sea features holiday shopping at local shops in downtown Camden, a holiday-themed concert, and more! The main attractions, however, are the Christmas by the Sea Parade and the Community Tree Lighting Ceremony.
The parade features holiday-themed floats by individuals and businesses! This float follows along downtown Camden, Maine, and concludes at Harbour Park where the tree-lighting ceremony takes place. Once at Camden Harbour Park, gather around the community Christmas tree in anticipation of the lighting!
Another popular event during the Christmas by the Sea Festival is The Nutcracker at the Camden Opera House. This magnificent show will run each day of the festival. Tickets for the show are $18 per adult ticket and $15 for seniors and children. These tickets will go fast, though! So be sure to snag yours before they’re gone.
Traditionally, Santa’s preferred method of transportation is via reindeer-drawn sleigh. In Camden, Santa arrives by boat! On Saturday morning, Santa sails into Rockport Harbour with his elves. Gather around to welcome him and take a photo!
