1. Jordan Pond
Jordan Pond is the second-largest lake at Acadia National Park. Many of the park’s visitors explore the area around Jordan Pond via its network of hiking trails. Two of our favorite excursions in this area are Hike the Bubbles and the Jordan Pond Path.
Hike the Bubbles offers panoramic views of Jordan Pond and the surrounding mountainous landscape, while the Jordan Pond Path provides views of the pond and surrounding landscape from the valley.
2. Carriage Roads
Acadia National Park boasts 45 miles of Carriage Roads. In the early 1900s, this network of roads was used to travel on horseback through the park. Today, they’re popular for biking and through the park. You can also book a horse-drawn carriage ride through the park with Carriages of Acadia.
3. Cadillac Mountain
Cadillac Mountain boasts the highest summit on the East Coast. You can reach the top via Park Loop Road, which leads visitors 3.5 up the mountain to their destination. It’s a popular spot to watch the sunset and enjoy a picnic dinner!
4. Bass Harbor Head Light Station
The Maine Coast is home to 65 lighthouses. No trip to our region of the United States would be complete without visiting at least one lighthouse! During your day trip to Acadia National Park, be sure to visit Bass Harbor Head Light Station to soak up idyllic lighthouse views!
