Common Ground
Common Ground is a large, light-filled, romantic room located on the backside of the second floor of the Inn. This guest room, which can accommodate two persons, is perfect for those who enjoy relaxing in their own private space. It is named after the famous Common Ground fair held every September in the nearby town of Unity. Common Ground has a bedroom, sitting area, outdoor deck and private bathroom, all of which are tastefully decorated with New England county fair memorabilia. The bedroom is furnished with a painted queen bed, built-in bookshelves filled with classic and contemporary works of fiction and nonfiction, and a large skylight in the vaulted ceiling. The sitting area features a comfortable sofa, large club chair, gas-log stove, flat-screen TV and DVD player, writing desk and ceiling fan. The outdoor deck is accessed through large French doors and is furnished with two oversized rattan chairs and colorful planters. The bathroom includes a large soaking tub and shower. Common Ground, particularly from its deck, has peaceful views of the Inn’s beautiful, park-like garden. While we love all our guest rooms, Common Ground is, in our view, one of our two best rooms.
